April Fundraising Wrap-Up

It is the start of new month and it is time for another update on The Mamas and the Tatas' fundraising progress! As of today, our total team fundraising stands at $8,248. No one has yet met their personal minimum, but we do have one walker over $1500, two walkers that have passed the $1000 threshold, and four of us over $900. Keep those donation coming!

We raised $66.02 from our Amazon shopping (WOW! Let's go for $100 this month) and $50 from our flower sales. I have not yet heard the final total for our Pampered Chef fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who participated.

We couldn't have gotten this far without the support of all of our friends and family, so thank you so very much! However, we still have a lot of work to do. We have a few things in the works for the months of May and June. Remember to keep checking back here regularly for details of our current fundraisers.

If you would prefer to support us now, we have a few options:

1) You can do some shopping through Amazon using our search box, also over there in the right hand side bar or by clicking the links at the bottom of each post. We get a small percentage of the profits from everything that you buy from Amazon provided that you access the site through our blog. 2) You can always donate directly to any or all of our walkers. You can find links to each of our fundraising pages on the top of the right hand side bar. The walkers are listed alphabetically. Please note that donations to the Susan G. Komen 3 Day for the Cure can be made in installments over a four month period. We also encourage all of our donors to consider applying for a company match from their place of employment if you can in order to double the size of your donation.

The "Breast" WOD ever!

The local Stafford Crossfit location will be sponsoring a WOD (work-out-of-the-day) sometime in June. The cost is $25. You will receive a really AWESOME T-shirt, along with instruction on how to complete the WOD. This event is open to ALL... you do not have to be a current Crossfit Member to participate. So come out, support us, and do something you can feel good about! (Crossfit Stafford - 2080 Jefferson Davis Hwy - Stafford, Va 22554).

Raffle - Now selling raffle tickets - $5 each.

We are selling raffle tickets for $5 each. We have 3 sets of prizes (each set is very similar to the items shown in the picture). Your winning set will include one item from each of the following (sets are created randomly by the M's and the T's):

Donuts at Weecycled Wardrobe

We had a GREAT time at our first official fundraiser... selling donuts to all the early bird shoppers inline at the Weecycled Wardrobe sale. We started with 120 donuts and 5 gallons of coffee. The donuts were a hit and we were very surprised, pleased and happy at the multiple generous donations to our team above and beyond the cost of the donuts. We made $120 from the sale. It's a start! We look forward to seeing many of the same shoppers (and lots of new ones) at the fall sale in August. We are currently at $4,275 which is 21% of our goal. Thanks to all who donated :-)

As many of you know-we are out to conquer a 3-day 60 mile walk for Breast Cancer. One of our first fundraising efforts is a Pampered Chef Party. 20% of all sales will be donated to our team! Welcome to the Mamas and the Tatas!

Welcome to the fundraising blog for The Mamas and the Tatas, a Stafford, VA team made up of local Mom’s walking in the 2011 Washington, DC Breast Cancer 3 Day! We will use this blog to announce our various fundraising efforts over the next year.

As you may know, in order to participate in the Breast Cancer 3 Day, each individual must raise a minimum of $2300. To help towards our team fundraising efforts this year, we have decided to start this blog detailing our path towards our final goal.  We plan on having a variety of fundraising events and contests so please check often to see what is next.  You can subscribe to the blog by entering your email and stay up to date with all the latest news.
